RAVEN’S KNOLL SITE RULES

  1. All laws of Canada and the Province of Ontario apply to visitors to Raven’s Knoll.
  2. Anyone putting the safety or well-being of others at risk, creating a hazard to the site or creating a situation that could have a potentially hazardous outcome will be asked to leave Raven’s Knoll without refund.
  3. No aggressive, sexually aggressive or inappropriate behaviour will be tolerated.
  4. No underage drinking of alcohol is permitted. The legal drinking age in Ontario is 19.
  5. Parents are responsible for their children (under the age of 18) at all times. Parents who do not, in the opinion of the stewards of Raven’s Knoll, exercise good parental care of their children will be asked to leave without refund.
  6. Please be advised that the river is public. Thus, on occasion boats may pass by and neighbours do use the river in view of our beach area. In keeping with community standards, we ask that you respect the norms of the host community of which we are privileged to be a part, and ask that no one be naked and people with breasts not be topless in the beach area.
  7. No child under age 12 may be left unattended near ANY body of water on the site. Children may utilize the beach, but MUST be supervised by an adult. The swimming area is not supervised and swimmers swim at their own risk. There is no swimming in the sacred well.
  8. It is not permitted to dig or create any additional fire pits or to scavenge fire wood from Raven’s Knoll property. Wood is available for purchase at the registration office for cooking and camping purposes. Due to Ontario regulations, firewood from outside the immediate vicinity is not permitted on-site.
  9. No glass bottles are permitted around the common fire pits.
  10. It is also not permitted to photograph anyone, including people in the background, without their prior consent; this includes rituals and group shots. Please be advised that offenders will have the video or photo(s) erased and may be asked to leave without refund. This includes camera phones!
  11. Smoking is strictly forbidden in all cabins, buildings and the children’s’ area(s). It is permitted to smoke elsewhere on the site provided that you dispose of your cigarette butts in an environmentally friendly way. (Use the Butt Cans provided).
  12. There is no bathing, washing of clothes or dishes, etc. in the river.
  13. There is no rule 13. Fnord.
  14. Respect yourself and others. Do not offend the Gods and Goddesses or spirits of the land.
  15. Except at the discretion of the stewards of Raven’s Knoll, no electrically amplified musical instruments, radios, etc. may be used on the site.
  16. Raven’s Knoll is home to sacred gardens, art, ritual spaces, installations, etc. Please do not disturb any area. Should you wish to create, establish or install any new sacred space/thing, please contact the stewards of Raven’s Knoll prior to doing so.
  17. Pets are welcome at Raven’s Knoll when there are not special events going on that preclude pets. Check the Raven’s Knoll Upcoming Events page for details. When in doubt, feel free to email us at ravensknoll@rogers.com.
  18. Normally, out of respect of fellow campers and our neighbours, quiet time is at 10 p.m., at which time musical instruments and boisterous behaviour must cease. Exceptions to musical instruments, such as drumming at a designated pit, may be in force. Check with staff.
  19. Do not drive around the campsite at night, and stay on the roads at all times, day or night, please. There are fire pits and other potential driving hazards that may cause damage to your vehicles or the campgrounds.
  20. This is private land; the stewards of the land have the right to enforce these rules. Anyone violating these rules shall be expelled without refund.
